Information. I do love information: and clear visual information was needed to help decipher similar situations, so that Torontonians call the correct number to get the appropriate response/help from the city.
This gave me a chance to work with the wonderful team at Publicis, who had already developed the tag line ‘Make the Right Call’ and gave me an opportunity to draw different kinds of situations we might find ourselves in, and not know what to do.
This project has given me a lot of freedom to play with the elements in the novel, to integrate lettering and basically play with composition and colour. It means a lot when the art director trusts you with the work, and I found that with Tara.

Worked with Groundwood books on this one. Keeping the colour range to a minimum (who am I kidding, 3 colours is fairly minimum), and putting the focus on the main character, and his interests.
In collaboration with Jeffrey Primeau, we created this cover for Doug Jordan’s novel about a 12 year old boy living in 1960s Canada. You can find your own copy through Doug’s site!
This book chronicles the lives of some of the most important American women who led the way to women winning the vote.
Carmen Oliver wrote this thoughtful book about a boy who helped make a difference for the Spirit Bears. I was proud to be part of the Kids Can Press team.
Another book title for Second Story Press! The characters in the book drew me in, and was also glad for the chance to try and capture their personalities.

These images were created for one of a series of youtube videos narrated by Tom Allen, about composers, and how they died. Suffice it to say, I said YES! These supported the video about Charles Valentin Alkan, an amazing composer and pianist.
